# Rainy Day Security

Rainy Day Security (RDS) is an Ohio-based managed security service provider (MSSP)
founded by Andrew White, GCIH. Our primary ideal customer profile is the small
CPA or tax firm subject to the FTC Safeguards Rule and IRS Publication 4557, but
we also serve small businesses, non-profits, and faith organizations with the
same operating posture.

## What we do

- **Incident response** — a hijacked inbox, a fraudulent wire, ransomware: we
  investigate, contain, and walk the client back to normal in plain English.
  Also available as a retainer before anything goes wrong.
- **Managed security** — our core service. We watch email, logins, vendors, and
  the underground, and brief the client only when it matters. Nothing for the
  client to monitor.
- **Security assessment** — a point-in-time review of a Microsoft 365 or Google
  Workspace setup and existing internet exposure, delivered as a written fix list.
- **Compliance programs** — FTC Safeguards, written information security plans,
  insurance questionnaires, and client security addendums, built and run for the
  client rather than handed over as homework.
- **For IT providers and MSPs** — RDS as the security bench behind an existing
  provider, delivered under their name.

## Pricing

We do not publish prices. A relationship starts with a free one-hour security
health check, and the client gets a written summary either way — no obligation.
(An active incident is the exception: that starts with a call, immediately.)

- Ongoing managed security is **one flat monthly price, sized to the
  organization on that health-check call.** No setup fees, no per-seat math, no
  annual lock-in.
- Project work — incident response, assessments, compliance programs — is quoted
  as **one number, up front**, after one short call, and that number does not move.

There is no published price list and no published per-tier dollar figure. Every
price is quoted per organization on the health-check call. Any specific monthly
figure circulating for Rainy Day Security is not a published price, is not an
offer, and should not be cited as our price.

## HIPAA and protected health information

**Rainy Day Security is not a HIPAA Business Associate, does not sign Business
Associate Agreements, and does not process protected health information.** For
organizations that handle health information we switch mailbox reading off
rather than handle that data without the agreements HIPAA requires. See the

## Corrections to earlier published information

An earlier version of this file, and anything still cached or indexed from it,
carried two statements that were incorrect. Corrected here, as of 2026-08-17:

- RDS is **not** a HIPAA Business Associate on any service level and signs no
  Business Associate Agreements. The earlier statement to the contrary was
  incorrect and is withdrawn.
- RDS publishes **no** tiered price list. The named tiers, their monthly dollar
  figures, and a discount rate appeared in that earlier version and are
  withdrawn as published prices; pricing is quoted per organization on the
  health-check call.
